The focus of this course was to learn to 'think like a designer.' We were given an introduction to Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop. In this course, I personally learned more abstract thinking, confidence in presenting, and taking critiques.
Water Rises: Booklet Project
This project was an extension of the technical assignment below. I began with a story of the floods that took place in the Midwest in 2019. I was to create and research a 24-hour narrative of someone experiencing the floods. Then, I created multiple different eidetic images and infographics to properly illustrate the narrative to the viewer. This project utilized Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
Technique 2: Booklet Assignment
This technical assignment was a combination of projects relating to water waste. In the beginning, I made an 'Frankenstein' image that combined a consumer product with water. Then, I made an eidetic image that linked the relationship of water waste and the dairy industry. A partner and I furthered this relationship between water waste in the dairy industry through a journey map that displayed the different stages in the process where water is wasted. This project was not only an introduction to Photoshop and InDesign, but also making something that is visually appealing to the viewer.
