In this course, I was able to get a much deeper understanding of Adobe Illustrator than I had before.
Vector Poster ProjectFor this project we were given full creative freedom to create a promotional poster for an object, company, person, etc. We utilized the posterize tool but also the pen and path tool in different areas. I chose to create a promotional poster for Jeep and their most recognizable car, the Jeep Wrangler. I chose an image where the car is coming towards the viewer and on rocks. I altered the rock colors in the foreground to match the mountain range in the background. I chose mountains because the Jeep company associates its cars with adventure.

Infographic ProjectFor this project, we were given full creative freedom to create a infographic in Illustrator for whatever topic we chose. I chose to create an infographic on the 5 r's of sustainability (refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle, and rot) because it interested me and I think most people only know of the reduce, reuse, and recycle part. I chose to create simple images that could get the message of each step across if there was no description. I altered the direction the banner was coming in for each step to create variety and interest in the viewer. I also chose different shades for the green banner to create a sort of gradient look and since green is associated with recycling.

Mesh ProjectFor this project, we were assigned to create a realistic image of a fruit or vegetable with the mesh tool. This project was one of the most difficult to me in this class because of the intricacy of the mesh tool, points, and choosing the correct colors. Although it was one of the most difficult, it one that I am most proud of.

Character Project
For this project, we were assigned to create a character in scene in Illustrator. I first created a sketch of the two characters, then brought a photograph of them into Illustrator. I then traced the characters and colored the image. I added final details like shading and drapery to them. After that, I found an image online that I could use for the background and posterized it to simplify it and not take away from the characters.
