In this course, I am learning the different elements and principles that are incorporated while making artwork. I am able to learn about different mediums and thinking abstractly.
Painting ProjectFor this project, we needed to choose a photograph of ourselves, posterize it on Photoshop, transfer the image by sketching, and paint the image. This project allowed us to not only work on our drawing and painting skills, but learn more about how values work together in the process.

Texture Project
For the project, we were to gather pictures of different textures from around our house. Once we had the textures, we needed to alter and arrange them in Photoshop to create different images - one in color and one in black and white. For my colored image, I chose to create a cityscape. And for my achromatic image, I chose to make a floral image that I was inspired from online. I chose for the floral image to be black and white because it could have been overwhelming or too busy in color.
Collage Image
For this project, we were assigned to create an image with paint chips that are found at hardware stores. I chose to create a turtle in water. I made the turtle symmetrical with the colors and sizes of the triangles as well as created a pattern that mimics the turtle's shell in real life. Then for the water, I chose to make it random to display moving water.
Map Weave
For this project, we were assigned to weave a map(s) through paper and connect the map to the paper however we see fit. I chose to extend the roads by choosing a match color and either leading the road off the page or connecting it to another elsewhere on the map. I brought in colors by coloring areas enclosed by roads.
